West Ham United manager Olli Harder has bolstered his side’s ranks with the double-signing of youngsters Brooke Cairns and Grace Garrad according to reports on The Hammers’ official website.
The pair arrive at The Chigwell Construction Stadium with good pedigrees with Cairns having previously been with Everton and Liverpool and Garrad having been on the books at Arsenal.
Cairns is yet to make her senior debut in elite football but she has played in the WSL Academy League while Garrad has been on the bench for Arsenal at senior level and she made one appearance during a loan spell at FA Women’s Championship club Crystal Palace last season.
After completing the deals, West Ham United boss Harder said “We’re really pleased to add Brooke and Grace to our squad. They’re young players who will strengthen our squad and fulfil part of our ethos and desire to develop English talent.
“This is a great opportunity for them both to train and play with elite level players and continue their development.”
West Ham United’s double-deal comes just 24 hours after the club completed the impressive addition of experienced Japanese international midfielder Yui Hasegawa. The 24-year-old will spend the next two years with The Hammers and should add real quality to what is quickly becoming a much-improved squad.
The East Londoners begin the new season at Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday 5 September.
