Blackburn Rovers have re-signed centre-back Helen Seed seven years on from her leaving the club according to reports on their official website.
The 25-year-old spent her youth in Rovers’ Regional Talent Centre (RTC) before making her senior debut for the club at the age of just 17.
Since leaving Rovers at the end of her initial spell, Seed has played in the United States, Switzerland and Cyprus. During her time away, Seed has experienced playing at the top level in European football which she has briefly played in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. She is now back in the English game and ready to prove her worth in the FA Women’s Championship.
After completing her Blackburn Rovers return Seed said “I’m really happy and really excited to be back at Rovers.
“It’s nice to be back where it all started, and I owe Rovers a lot for my development in football.
“I’m looking forward to getting back into the Rovers swing of things.”
Seed returns to Blackburn Rovers on the eve of the new FA Women’s Championship season. She could be selected by Rovers boss Gemma Donnelly for the club’s season opener against Sheffield United at The Sir Tom Finney Stadium on Sunday.
