Chelsea forward Sam Kerr could be set to collect her 100th senior international cap for Australia later this month with the player having been named in the latest Westfield Matildas squad.

The Australian national team will come together for an international training camp later this month before taking on the Republic of Ireland in a friendly match at the Tallaght Stadium in Dublin on Wednesday 22 September.

Australia head coach Tony Gustavsson named his 25-player squad for the upcoming camp earlier today with Chelsea forward Kerr included. The player is currently sitting on 99 caps for the Westfield Matildas and she will hit the century milestone if she makes an appearance against the Republic of Ireland.

Kerr is one of nine players from the Barclays FA Women’s Super League to be included in the Australia squad. West Ham United pair Mackenzie Arnold and Tameka Yallop have been selected, as have Manchester City’s Alanna Kennedy and Hayley Raso and Arsenal’s Lydia Williams and Steph Catley. Emily Gielnik and Kyah Simon complete the English-based call-ups.

The Australia squad will begin to report for duty from this weekend with the Barclays FA Women’s Super League players set to link-up with their country following the second round of matches.
