Last season’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League title rivals Manchester City and Chelsea will meet in a Vitality Women’s FA Cup semi-final blockbuster at The Academy Stadium at the end of the month.

The draw for the semi-final stage was conducted this evening with all four remaining sides being teams from the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.

Manchester City recorded a 6-0 victory over Leicester City in their quarter-final tie this evening and they will now face a much tougher assignment in the semi-finals in the form of Emma Hayes’ Chelsea. The Blues beat The Cityzens to the Barclays FA Women’s Super League title by two points last season while games between the two sides have produced lots and lots of goals. Chelsea find themselves in the last four of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup after recording a 4-0 win at Birmingham City.

Arsenal recorded an emphatic 5-1 North London derby victory over Tottenham Hotspur this evening and their reward for progressing is a home tie against Brighton & Hove Albion, a side who are featuring in their first major tournament semi-finals. The Seagulls defeated Charlton Athletic 1-0 at The People’s Pension Stadium this evening in their quarter-final tie.

The semi-final ties will be staged on Sunday 31 October and both will be broadcast live on the BBC. The 2020/2021 Vitality Women’s FA Cup final takes place on Sunday 5 December and will be broadcast live on BBC One.
