Watford will be hoping to collect their first points of the season in the FA Women’s Championship when Charlton Athletic provide the opposition at Vicarage Road on Saturday afternoon.
Clinton Lancaster’s side are the only team in the second tier yet to collect a point this season after losing all of their opening three games. They are finding the transition from the FA Women’s National League to the FA Women’s Championship challenging, however, the Hertfordshire club haven’t been all that far away from getting a result in a couple of their games.
Watford suffered a triple injury blow last weekend with Megan Chandler, Anaisa Harney and Rosie Kmita all picking up knocks during the trip to Sheffield United and the trio are likely to be assessed ahead of The Golden Girls’ latest game while Georgia Clifford was not named in the squad at The Technique Stadium.
Charlton Athletic were in action in midweek as they faced top tier side Brighton & Hove Albion in a Vitality Women’s FA Cup quarter-final tie which they narrowly lost 1-0. The Addicks are set to welcome back Beth Roe, Hollie Olding and Ella Rutherford for the trip to Watford, although Lauren Bruton remains out.
The FA Women’s Championship fixture between Watford and Charlton Athletic is scheduled to kick-off at 2pm on Saturday afternoon. Fans can buy their tickets right up to kick-off by clicking here.
