Sheffield United make their first Bramall Lane appearance since 2019 on Saturday when they face Liverpool in their latest fixture in the FA Women’s Championship.

The Blades hammered Millwall Lionesses 6-0 in S2 in May 2019, a game which was played out in-front of 1,010 fans. The club are hoping to smash that attendance figure this weekend, as well as their overall attendance record of 1,521 which was recorded for an FA Women’s Continental League Cup quarter-final tie against Manchester City in early 2020.

Sheffield United go into the match in good form after collecting 10 points from their opening five FA Women’s Championship games. Head coach Neil Redfearn remains without attacker Rhema Lord-Mears who is receiving treatment for a blood clot while youngster Mia Enderby is away with England Under-17s as they participate in qualifying for the UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship Bosnia-Herzegovina 2022.

Midfielder Alethea Paul returned to the Sheffield United squad at Crystal Palace last weekend after spending 10 months on the sidelines recovering from an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury. Teammate Ellie Wilson is still recovering from the same kind of injury and she will not be part of the squad this weekend.

Liverpool travel to South Yorkshire having also collected 10 points from an available 15. The Reds are a place lower than Sheffield United in the FA Women’s Championship table as a result of their inferior goal difference. Republic of Ireland international defender Megan Campbell is Liverpool’s only long term absentee while forward Rianna Dean has missed the last two games with a foot injury but is thought to be close to a return.

The FA Women’s Championship fixture between Sheffield United and Liverpool at Bramall Lane kicks-off at 3pm on Saturday afternoon. Fans can purchase their tickets by clicking here with admission priced at just £1.
