Chelsea forward Pernille Harder has extended her record goalscoring haul for Denmark with a goal in their 8-0 demolition of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Viborg this evening.
Harder moved clear of Merete Pedersen at the top of Denmark’s all-time goalscoring charts last month with 66 goals in 130 senior internationals and she netted her side’s seventh goal in this evening’s FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia New Zealand 2023 qualifying victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina to move onto 67 goals for her country.
Tonight’s victory for Lars Søndergaard’s side was all about Lyon forward Signe Bruun. The 23-year-old scored all four of Denmark’s first half goals while she also netted early in the second half as she ended the game with a personal goal tally of five. Substitute Mille Gejl then added a sixth goal in the 65th minute before Harder got her name on the scoresheet 10 minutes from time. Sara Thrige Andersen’s goal completed the scoring in second half injury time.
Denmark remain at the top of their qualification group with three wins out of three. Søndergaard’s side have scored 23 goals in those three games while they are yet to concede.
The Danes are next in action on Tuesday evening when they travel to Podgorica to face Montenegro.
