Women’s Football Weekend ’21 gets underway on Saturday lunchtime when Tottenham Hotspur host North London rivals Arsenal at The Hive.

Spurs have taken huge strides forward so far this season under head coach Rehanne Skinner and they will be keen to show that they can live up to the challenge of Barclays FA Women’s Super League leaders Arsenal.

Ahead of the match, FAWSL Full-Time have been looking at the statistics surrounding the fixture provided by Opta. Here are four facts which relate to the Barclays FA Women’s Super League meeting between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

Tottenham Hotspur are yet to find a way of stopping The Gunners

Tottenham Hotspur have lost all three of their Barclays FA Women’s Super League matches against Arsenal. The Lilywhites lost 6-1 at Meadow Park before going down 3-0 at home in last season’s league meetings. Arsenal were also victorious at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Women’s Football Weekend ’19.

Arsenal are yet to concede a goal at Spurs

Arsenal have won both away North London derbies in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League by a 5-0 aggregate score. The Gunners’ proud away record against their neighbours was also carried into pre-season with Jonas Eidevall’s side winning 4-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in ‘The Mind Series’.

The stats suggest late derby day drama

Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have scored the most goals in the final 10 minutes of Barclays FA Women’s Super League matches this season. The pair have each scored five goals in the final 10 minutes. Both sides netted in the final 10 minutes last weekend with Spurs equalising at the death against Manchester United and Arsenal scoring the fourth goal of their 4-0 win over West Ham United.

Spurs must look to become first team to lead against Arsenal

Arsenal are the only Barclays FA Women’s Super League side yet to trail for a single minute this season. The Gunners’ blistering start has also resulted in them being ahead for the most minutes in total (372). Those statistics highlight just how difficult the challenge will be for opponents Spurs at The Hive this weekend.
