Former West Ham United forward Frédéric Piquionne has become Jean-Luc Vasseur’s assistant manager at Everton.
The club announced the news via an official press release this evening. Vasseur has also added Franck Plaine as his performance manager.
Piquionne is no stranger to fans of the men’s game in England with the former forward having spent time with Portsmouth, West Ham United and Doncaster Rovers. The 42-year-old enjoyed a 15-year senior playing career which saw him also play in France, the United States and India.
After completing his move to Walton Hall Park, Piquionne told Everton’s official media team “I’m very proud and excited to begin my work with this club. To be back in England with a big club like Everton, it’s exciting to be part of.
“The WSL has grown very quickly over the past few years and we are all determined to get Everton competing with the best.
“I will give everything to help the players progress. I want to help bring success to this team and this club.”
Piquionne will specifically focus on coaching and tactics in his role as assistant manager while Plaine will oversee physical performance and sports science matters at the club.
The pair are expected to be in the dugout for the first time on Sunday when Everton face Manchester United at Walton Hall Park.
