Liverpool will be hoping to make it 12 games unbeaten in all competitions when they travel to the Eppleton Colliery Welfare Ground to face Sunderland on Saturday evening.

Liverpool leapfrogged Durham into top spot in the FA Women’s Championship table last weekend after beating them 2-0 at Maiden Castle. Meanwhile, Sunderland go into this weekend’s game in eighth place in the table and looking to add more points themselves.

Melanie Reay is not thought to have any new injury concerns to contend with and it is understood that Abbey Joice and Maria Farrugia are available for selection. The Sunderland boss will be looking for goals from forward Keira Ramshaw after she returned to the goal trail in The Lady Black Cats’ last game at Watford.

Liverpool will again be without Rylee Foster, Rianna Dean, Charlotte Wardlaw and Megan Campbell for the trip to the North East, although the latter two players are back in training. Manager Matt Beard made a number of changes for the FA Women’s Continental League Cup fixture against Blackburn Rovers in midweek and the likes of Leighanne Robe, Niamh Fahey, Taylor Hinds, Jas Matthews, Leanne Kiernan, Rachel Furness and Melissa Lawley are all expected to come back in.

The FA Women’s Championship fixture between Sunderland and Liverpool at the Eppleton Colliery Welfare Ground kicks-off at 7pm on Saturday evening. Tickets can be purchased by clicking here.
