Arsenal will be hoping to maintain their position at the top of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League table when they travel to Manchester United on Sunday.

The Gunners are a point clear of Chelsea at the summit but this weekend’s trip to the Leigh Sports Village is no easy assignment, especially on the back of a hectic run of fixtures.

Manchester United boss Marc Skinner will assess the condition of forward Martha Thomas ahead of the match with the player having picked up a knock in the 2-1 FA Women’s Continental League Cup victory over Manchester City in midweek. Millie Turner remains sidelined but Hayley Ladd could return after recovering from illness.

Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall remains without long term absentees Malin Gut and Viktoria Schnaderbeck while Leah Williamson could be sidelined until at least Christmas. Simone Boye Sørensen, Mana Iwabuchi and Tobin Heath are all carrying knocks and Eidevall is uncertain whether the trio will make the squad. Manuela Zinsberger, Steph Catley, Frida Maanum and Vivianne Miedema could be recalled to the starting XI after being named amongst the substitutes for the game against HB Køge in midweek.

The Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture between Manchester United and Arsenal is scheduled to kick-off at 12.15pm on Sunday. Tickets for the match can be purchased by clicking here.
