Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall admits that Sunday’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture against Manchester United at the Leigh Sports Village will be a difficult challenge for his side.

The Red Devils are winless in three Barclays FA Women’s Super League matches, however, they are also unbeaten from those games.

When speaking in his pre-match press conference, Eidevall said that Manchester United are a strong team with very good players and they will provide his side with a tough challenge.

“They’re a good team with good players and they are well-organised,” Eidevall said. “We expecting a tough game but we really want to give it one final push before going into the international break.

“When a new manager comes in, the team gets better the more that you work with them but I think that all of the teams have that expectation during the season, you will learn, develop and will be better. It is never the same teams that finish the season that start it so development will happen but that will not just be Arsenal and Manchester United, that will be all teams.”

Sunday’s game will be Arsenal’s last in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League for three weeks. Despite the absence of league football, Eidevall emphasised that there are plenty of other big games to focus on.

He joked “There is just the small matter of an FA Cup final and a Champions League game against Barcelona to come so I think we will be prepared for the league game after that in terms of the level of opposition that we will play.”

The Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture between Manchester United and Arsenal is scheduled to kick-off at 12.15pm on Sunday. Tickets for the match can be purchased by clicking here.
