FA Women’s National League North club Burnley are offering free admission to all supporters for this weekend’s Vitality Women’s FA Cup third round tie against Liverpool.

The Clarettes take on a Liverpool side who were the highest-ranked team in the third round draw at The Lancashire Football Association’s County Ground on Sunday afternoon.

Burnley have today announced the news that the game will be made completely free of charge to all supporters with the Lancashire club hoping to attract a bumper crowd for their glamour tie against elite opposition. It is thought that advance tickets will not need to be obtained and fans can simply turn up on the day.

COVID-19 denied Burnley a bumper crowd in last season’s competition when they hosted top tier side Manchester United in the fourth round. The Red Devils were 6-0 winners in that game but Matt Bee’s Burnley side were a real credit to themselves despite the large scoreline. The Clarettes will be hoping play out a more competitive contest this weekend against Matt Beard’s star-studded Liverpool outfit.

The Vitality Women’s FA Cup third round tie between Burnley and Liverpool at The County Ground kicks-off at 1pm on Sunday afternoon.
