Birmingham City’s interim head coach Darren Carter takes charge of the team for the very first time when they take on Manchester City at St Andrew’s this afternoon.
The Blues appointed Carter into his role shortly after last month’s 5-0 defeat to Chelsea at Kingsmeadow and he has been tasked with guiding the club to Barclays FA Women’s Super League safety against the odds. Carter has filled the vacancy which was left by former boss Scott Booth who was recently sacked following a poor run of results.
Birmingham City are again without young defender Arabella Suttie who is out for the season with an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury. Head coach Carter has not provided fitness updates for any of his other players.
Manchester City head coach Gareth Taylor could have full-back Lucy Bronze available for selection for the first time this season. The bad news is that defender Demi Stokes is doubtful due to illness while midfielder Jill Scott is carrying a knock. The Cityzens remain without long term absentees Ellie Roebuck, Karen Bardsley, Steph Houghton, Esme Morgan and Chloe Kelly.
The Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture between Birmingham City and Manchester City at St Andrew’s kicks-off at 2pm. Tickets can be bought at the Main Stand ticket office from noon.
