FEATURED: New Chelsea signing Abdullina’s Russian career ‘in numbers’

Chelsea completed their first piece of January transfer window business earlier today with the capture of Russian international left-back Alsu Abdullina.

The youngster is thought to have been on Blues boss Emma Hayes’ radar for some time and she has finally put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal with the South West Londoners.

Abdullina’s career to date has been spent back home in her native Russia and FAWSL Full-Time have taken a look at the numbers behind the defender’s time playing in her homeland.

2 – Abdullina has played senior football for two clubs in Russia, those being Chertanovo Moscow and Lokomotiv Moscow.

2017 – The full-back made her senior footballing debut back in 2017 whilst with Chertanovo Moscow.

78 – Despite being such a young age, Abdullina has 78 Russian league appearances to her name. She appeared in all-but-four of Lokomotiv Moscow’s league fixtures last season.

11 – The defender has plenty of attacking qualities, she has 11 league goals to her name in her career to date.

2019 – Abdullina made her UEFA Women’s Champions League debut for former club Chertanovo Moscow in 2019 as they were defeated 1-0 at home by Glasgow City.

4 – The player has won four domestic trophies to date – one Russian league title, two Russian Cups and the Russian Super Cup.

8 – Abdullina has great discipline. The youngster receives one booking in almost 10 games on average with Abdullina having been cautioned eight times in 78 league games.

Abdullina will link-up with her new teammates after the international break as she prepares to become the first Russian player to feature in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.
