One of the biggest positives at Chelsea this season has been the development of Canadian international midfielder Jessie Fleming.
The 23-year-old arrived at the Barclays FA Women’s Super League club in summer 2020 but she has had to be patient when waiting for her opportunities to impress.
This season has seen Fleming become a more important member of Emma Hayes’ side and FAWSL Full-Time have looked at the player’s statistics as we aim to summarise her season so far ‘in numbers’.
2 – Fleming has already started two more games for Chelsea in this season’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League than she did in the whole of last season.
3 – The midfielder failed to score a league goal for The Blues in 2020/2021 but she already has three league goals to her name this season, including the winning goal against Aston Villa.
82.8 – Fleming has completed 82.8% of her attempted passes in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League, that’s the eighth-highest in the Chelsea squad.
1 – The Canadian netted her first career UEFA Women’s Champions League goal in Chelsea’s 7-0 victory over Servette FCCF in November.

0 – The midfielder is yet to receive a booking when playing in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League. Fleming has gone 23 games without a caution.
10 – Fleming is the joint-10th top goalscorer in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League so far this season, only Sam Kerr and Fran Kirby have scored more league goals than the midfielder in the Chelsea team.
6 – Fleming has the sixth-highest goals per 90 minutes average in the league this season. Her 0.61 goals per game rate can only be bettered by Sam Kerr, Vivianne Miedema, Fran Kirby, Kim Little and Pernille Harder.
13 – Only Erin Cuthbert (13) has won more tackles than Fleming (10) in the Chelsea team so far this season.
2021 – Fleming’s performances for club and country have seen her named Canada Soccer’s Women’s Player of the Year for 2021.
Fleming and Chelsea return to action following the winter break when Tottenham Hotspur are the visitors to Kingsmeadow on 7 January 2022.
