Chelsea goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger has been named in the final three-player shortlist for The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper award for 2021.
The 31-year-old German international stopper enjoyed a hugely successful year with the player helping Chelsea lift another Barclays FA Women’s Super League title, the FA Women’s Continental League Cup and the Vitality Women’s FA Cup. Berger also featured in a first career UEFA Women’s Champions League final with The Blues.
FAWSL Full-Time were issued with an official FIFA press release earlier today which confirmed the three finalists for The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper award for 2021. Berger was the first of the three finalists listed while Chilean keeper Christiane Endler and Canadian international Stephanie Labbé have also made the shortlist.
The winner of The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper award for the last calendar year will be revealed at The Best FIFA Football Awards™ 2021 which is scheduled to take place on Monday 17 January. The awards will again be broadcast live by FIFA, allowing fans to watch the full ceremony from the comfort of their own homes.
Further category shortlists will be announced in the coming days including the final nominees for The Best FIFA Women’s Player and The Best FIFA Women’s Coach for the last calendar year.
