Leicester City have completed the signing of winger Freya Gregory on a loan deal from Aston Villa until the end of the season according to reports on The Foxes’ official website.

The 18-year-old midfielder spent time in the youth ranks of both Aston Villa and Birmingham City before returning to the claret and blue side of the Second City in a senior capacity in 2020.

Gregory is rated highly by Aston Villa but she is in need of regular first team football and the loan move to Leicester City could now offer her more playing minutes. The youngster has made six appearances for Aston Villa this season but she has not played a full 90 minutes.

After completing her move to The King Power Stadium, Gregory said “I’m buzzing to be honest, just to get playing football, doing what I know I can do and prove myself in the league.

“It’s been a good few days trying to get involved and get started but I’m really excited to be here. It’s an ambitious club and I’m excited to join it.”

Gregory becomes the second Aston Villa player to move to Leicester City today. The East Midlands club have also added forward Missy Goodwin to their ranks on a dual registration basis for the remainder of the season.
