PREVIEW: Birmingham City v Arsenal

Arsenal will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League table when they travel to St Andrew’s to face Birmingham City on Sunday.

The Gunners currently lead second-placed side Chelsea by four points, however, The Blues are not in action this weekend.

Arsenal’s latest opponents Birmingham City go into the match bottom of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League table and without a win all season. Interim head coach Darren Carter will again be without long term absentees Lily Simkin and Arabella Suttie while the pair have been joined on the sidelines by Danish defender Cecilie Sandvej. One unnamed player is also in self-isolation and will be unavailable for selection.

League leaders Arsenal travel to the Midlands without injured pair Leah Williamson and Tobin Heath who are not yet ready to return. Lydia Williams, Steph Catley and Caitlin Foord are away on international duty with Australia as the nation prepare for the upcoming AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022™. Head coach Jonas Eidevall has confirmed that Japanese international Mana Iwabuchi will be available for selection.

The Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture between Birmingham City and Arsenal kicks-off 2pm on Sunday afternoon with tickets available to purchase on the day from the St Andrew’s ticket office.
