Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Finnish international midfielder Eveliina Summanen on an 18-month deal according to reports on the North Londoners’ official website.

The 23-year-old moves to the Barclays FA Women’s Super League following a spell in Sweden with Kristianstads DFF. Summanen has spent the last two years with the Damallsvenskan club and appeared in their Round 1 UEFA Women’s Champions League fixtures this season.

Summanen has been capped by Finland on 34 occasions while she has scored four goals. The player has been a regular starter for Finland in their UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 and FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023 qualifying campaigns.

After completing her move to Spurs, Summanen said “It’s a dream to sign for Tottenham Hotspur, I’m very proud to be a Spurs player. The Club has big ambitions and I’m incredibly happy to be a part of the next stage of the journey here. I felt that now is the right time to take the next step in my career and play in one of the top leagues in the world. I can’t wait to get started.”

Summanen has been handed the number 24 shirt by Spurs and she could make her debut for the club against West Ham United at the weekend should international clearance be obtained.
