Williamson is very much a ‘fans’ favourite’ at Meadow Park and news of her contract extension will delight everyone associated with Arsenal.

The full terms of the deal have been left undisclosed by The Gunners, however, Williamson is thought to be with the club for the long term.

After signing her new deal, Williamson said “It’s a dream come true. It was a dream come true the first time that I signed here and the feeling hasn’t changed. I’m as grateful as ever to have the opportunity to do what I do here – at home – and I’m very proud to continue to represent my family playing for Arsenal and to wear the badge.”

Williamson could make her 200th senior appearance for Arsenal later this year, a sign of her importance to the side. The player is also set to star for the Lionesses at this summer’s home UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 and she was recently handed the captain’s armband by England boss Sarina Wiegman, impressing in victories over North Macedonia, Luxembourg, Northern Ireland and Latvia.

Williamson is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury but is expected to return to action some time in the next month.
