Chelsea will be hoping to return to winning ways in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League when West Ham United are the visitors to Kingsmeadow on Wednesday evening.

The Blues are winless in their last two league matches, failing to capitalise on league leaders Arsenal’s stuttering form to close the gap.  Emma Hayes’ side have also failed to score in those games.

The Chelsea squad has been much-depleted in recent weeks and that theme is set to continue for the midweek meeting with West Ham United. Ji So-yun and Sam Kerr are away on international duty while Magda Eriksson and Maren Mjelde remain injured. Melanie Leupolz has long COVID while the virus has also denied veteran goalkeeper Carly Telford a farewell.

West Ham United make the trip to Kingsmeadow on the back of an impressive 3-0 home win over Everton on Sunday. The Hammers remain without Canadian international forward Adriana Leon and youngster Maisy Barker through injury while Mackenzie Arnold, Tameka Yallop and Yui Hasegawa are away on international duty. Defender Hawa Cissoko could return after serving a suspension.
