Brighton & Hove Albion attacker Katie Robinson has joined FA Women’s Championship club Charlton Athletic on loan according to reports on The Seagulls’ official club website.
The 19-year-old has overcome a serious knee injury to make her comeback this season but just one of her six Barclays FA Women’s Super League appearances has come in the form of a start.
With Robinson in need of minutes, it has today been confirmed that the player has been sent out on loan to Charlton Athletic. The attacker’s long term future is very much with Brighton & Hove Albion and it has been revealed that Robinson has signed a new two-and-a-half-year contract with the club prior to going out on loan.
It has been reported that while Robinson will play for Charlton Athletic until the end of the campaign, she will also train with Brighton & Hove Albion with the club keeping a watchful eye on her progress. It is unknown whether the player will be cleared to feature for Charlton Athletic in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup with the club set to contest a fourth round tie at Plymouth Argyle on Sunday.
News of Robinson’s loan move and new contract was revealed by Brighton & Hove Albion shortly before this evening’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture at Arsenal.
