Arsenal have qualified for the semi-finals of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup once again with a 4-0 victory over Coventry United in their quarter-final tie at the LV Bet Stadium this evening.
Stina Blackstenius, Beth Mead, Nikita Parris and Vivianne Miedema were all on target for The Gunners as they took another step towards Wembley by securing their place in the last four of the competition.
Second tier side Coventry United held out until the 39th minute before Arsenal finally broke the deadlock, Parris’ cross from the right being headed in by Blackstenius from six yards.
The Gunners added to their lead after the break with Mead thumping the ball home from the edge of the area just two minutes after coming on as a substitute.
Parris then completed her impressive personal performance with a tap in to make it 3-0 before substitute Miedema rounded off the scoring 13 minutes from time when she struck the ball into the corner of Coventry United keeper Lucy Thomas’ goal from distance.
Arsenal have become the first club to go into the hat for the semi-final draw. The draw is scheduled to take place at 6.30pm on Monday evening and will be broadcast live on Sportsday on the BBC News channel.
