Watford have announced the signing of former Coventry United midfielder Andria Georgiou.
The 25-year-old has joined The Golden Girls on the eve of their latest FA Women’s Championship fixture against London City Lionesses and she will go straight into the squad for that match.
The midfielder is very experienced at FA Women’s Championship level. Georgiou has previously represented London Bees and Crystal Palace at that level before joining latest club Coventry United last summer. The player has made four appearances in all competitions for The Red and Greens this season.
After completing her move to Watford, Georgiou told the club’s official media team “I’m buzzing to finally be here and for the paperwork to go through. I just can’t wait to get started now on Sunday.
“This has always been a club close to home, I’ve never actually played for Watford before. The facilities are great, and the girls here are as well.
“Everyone who’s played here will agree with this, but the facilities are great. They get treated really well and that’s what the women’s game needs right now, so they’re heading in the right direction.”
Georgiou has been handed the number 48 shirt by Watford and could make her debut against London City Lionesses at Vicarage Road tomorrow.
