Chelsea will be hoping to go to the top of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League table for the very first time this season when they travel to The King Power Stadium to face Leicester City on Sunday.
The Blues trail current league leaders Arsenal by two points, however, The Gunners’ North London derby meeting with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday has been called off due to COVID-19 cases meaning that Chelsea can now climb into pole position with victory in the East Midlands.
Leicester City manager Lydia Bedford has confirmed that one unnamed key player will be missing from the squad for the Chelsea game this weekend. The Foxes will also be without long term absentees Kirstie Levell, Lachante Paul, Hannah Cain and Jess Sigsworth. Recent signing CJ Bott may be involved while goalkeeper Demi Lambourne could return.
Chelsea manager Emma Hayes has confirmed that forwards Fran Kirby and Pernille Harder will be missing from her squad this weekend. The Blues boss is not thought to have any other injury concerns to contend with.
