Arsenal will be hoping to secure their place in the semi-finals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League when they take on VfL Wolfsburg in the second leg of their quarter-final tie on Thursday evening.

The two sides played out a 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium a week ago. On that occasion, Tabea Wassmuth fired the visitors into an early lead before Lotte Wubben-Moy netted a late equaliser for The Gunners.

VfL Wolfsburg have failed to score in only two of their last 38 UEFA Women’s Champions League matches. Tomorrow night’s opponents Arsenal have also netted lots of UEFA Women’s Champions League goals with The Gunners having failed to score in just one of their last 16 European fixtures.

VfL Wolfsburg have a strong record at home against English sides

VfL Wolfsburg have won four of their previous five UEFA Women’s Champions League matches against English clubs on home soil, drawing the other. Meanwhile, Arsenal have already lost on German soil this season, going down 4-1 at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in their final Group C match on 15 December.

The UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-final second leg tie between VfL Wolfsburg and Arsenal kicks-off at 5.45pm on Thursday evening.
