Manchester United will be keen to push on in their bid for UEFA Women’s Champions League qualification when they face Brighton & Hove Albion in their latest Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture at the Leigh Sports Village at lunchtime.

The Red Devils go into the game in third place, level on points with fourth-placed Manchester City. Marc Skinner’s side hold the superior placing as a result of their goal difference which is two better than The Cityzens.

Manchester United head coach Skinner continues to face a number of challenges with his squad selection. Defenders Millie Turner, Aoife Mannion, Kirsty Smith and Diane Caldwell are all out, as is attacker Lucy Staniforth. Loanee Signe Bruun also looks set to miss out with the player having pulled out of the Danish squad yesterday.

The Brighton & Hove Albion squad is looking stronger following their recent battles with COVID-19 cases. Manager Hope Powell has confirmed that a number of players have returned, although training plans have been carefully managed. Katie Startup will deputise in the Albion goal with first-choice keeper Megan Walsh still out while Dani Bowman is also not well enough to feature.

The Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture between Manchester United and Brighton & Hove Albion kicks-off at 12pm.
