England’s qualifier against Northern Ireland at Windsor Park now sold out

England will contest their FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023 qualifier against Northern Ireland in Belfast on Tuesday evening in-front of a sell-out crowd.

The Irish Football Association have this evening confirmed that all remaining tickets for the match have been sold meaning that more than 16,000 fans will be in attendance, a record for a home international fixture for Northern Ireland’s women’s team.

Should England defeat North Macedonia in Skopje tomorrow night and Northern Ireland collect at least a point against Austria in Wiener Neustadt, the Lionesses could secure qualification for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023 with victory in Tuesday’s match at Windsor Park. Meanwhile, Northern Ireland face a defining period with Kenny Shiels’ side tussling with Austria for the play-off spot.

England and Northern Ireland met in the reverse fixture at Wembley back in October. On that occasion, the Lionesses won 4-0 in-front of 23,225 fans. The visitors kept the scoreline at 0-0 for 63 minutes before England substitute Beth Mead netted a hat-trick while Beth England was also on target.

Tuesday evening’s fixture will be Northern Ireland’s second FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023 qualifier to be staged at Windsor Park. The Green and White Army recorded a 4-0 victory over Latvia at the national stadium back in September.
