London City Lionesses will be aiming to move back up into third position in the FA Women’s Championship table when they face Lewes at Princes Park on Thursday evening.

The two clubs were originally set to meet a little over a couple of weeks ago, however, the game was postponed due to positive COVID-19 cases in the Lewes camp.

London City Lionesses head coach Melissa Phillips has revealed that there have been a couple of COVID-19 cases in her squad in the lead up to the rearranged game, although she is expecting to be in a position to field a strong line-up. Forward Rianna Jarrett has recently been sidelined with a niggling injury but the player is expected to play again this season.

Lewes make the trip to Dartford without the services of a couple of key players due to long term injuries. Defender Rhian Cleverly and midfielder Kallie Balfour are out for the season while forward Ini Umotong is also again expected to be missing. Ellie Noble was another notable absentee from the Lewes squad which lost 2-0 to Sheffield United last time out.

The FA Women’s Championship fixture between London City Lionesses and Lewes is scheduled to kick-off at 7pm on Thursday evening.
