West Ham United and Manchester City will battle it out for a place at Wembley when the pair contest their Vitality Women’s FA Cup semi-final tie at The Chigwell Construction Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The two sides met in the 2018/2019 final at the national stadium. That appearance was West Ham United’s only outing in a major domestic cup final while Manchester City have won all three Vitality Women’s FA Cup finals which they have contested, their last success being a 3-1 extra-time victory over Everton in the 2019/2020 final.
The West Ham United squad go into this weekend’s semi-final in good shape. Maisy Barker is the only definite absentee but manager Olli Harder may need to manage player load carefully given the journeys which some of his players have taken during the recent international break.
Manchester City head coach Gareth Taylor remains without long term absentees Karen Bardsley, Karima Benameur Taieb, Steph Houghton and Esme Morgan while Vicky Losada is not yet fit enough to return. Alex Greenwood is expected to play after overcoming a knee problem while Taylor is expecting Alanna Kennedy to be available after the player broke her nose whilst on international duty with Australia.
The Vitality Women’s FA Cup semi-final tie between West Ham United and Manchester City is scheduled to kick-off at 12.15pm on Saturday afternoon. Tickets remain available and can be purchased by clicking here.
