Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Becky Spencer has signed a new two-year contract extension with the club according to reports on  The Lilywhites’ official website.

The 31-year-old joined Spurs on a free transfer in summer 2019 and she has gone on to become an important member of the North Londoners’ squad.

Spencer has made 39 appearances for Spurs in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League, keeping 10 clean sheets in the process. The keeper’s performances for Spurs have also resulted in her receiving international recognition with Jamaica.

The player has enjoyed a 16-year senior career which has seen her represent eight different clubs. Spencer has enjoyed two spells with Arsenal and Birmingham City while she has also turned out for Nottingham Forest, Gillingham, ASJ Sochaux, Chelsea, West Ham United and latest club Spurs.

After signing her new deal, Spencer said “The direction the Club is going in, the staff, players, and fans made the decision really easy for me. I feel comfortable here, it’s like a home. Where we are now is incredible and I can’t wait to see what is to come.”

Tottenham Hotspur have been busy putting down foundations for next season. Spencer joins teammates Kit Graham, Ashleigh Neville and Shelina Zadorsky in signing new terms with the club while head coach Rehanne Skinner also recently agreed a contract extension.
