United States international forward Tobin Heath has left Arsenal by mutual consent according to reports on The Gunners’ official website.
The 33-year-old joined the North Londoners back in September but it has today been confirmed that she has been released from her contract ahead of schedule. The decision to allow Heath to move on comes after the player sustained a hamstring injury which has ruled her out of action for the remainder of the season.
In her near-eight-month spell with The Gunners, Heath has made 18 appearances in all competitions and has scored three goals. The player has helped Arsenal compete for silverware in four different competitions. The forward leaves the LV Bet Stadium with Arsenal just a point behind London rivals Chelsea in the race for the Barclays FA Women’s Super League title.
After leaving Arsenal, Heath said “I have loved every minute of my time here. I would like to thank everyone at the Club who has made me feel so welcome.
“Arsenal is a special Club and this is a special group of players. I have no doubt that they are bound for success in the near future and I’ll be supporting the team with the rest of the Arsenal family from now on.”
Heath’s spell with Arsenal was her second with a club in England. The American attacker spent the 2020/2021 campaign with Manchester United. It now seems likely that the player’s next move could see her return to her native United States.
