Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall has confirmed that midfielder Jordan Nobbs will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury.

The 29-year-old England international sustained her injury during Sunday’s 7-0 victory over Aston Villa at the LV Bet Stadium. Nobbs came off the bench in the 73rd minute but she lasted just 12 minutes before having to leave the field with an injury.

Arsenal head coach Eidevall has been speaking to the media this afternoon and he confirmed that Nobbs’ season is over. The Gunners boss could not confirm whether the midfielder will be fit for this summer’s UEFA Women’s EURO.

“The scans have confirmed that she will miss the rest of the season with Arsenal,” Eidevall said. “It is an injury with an ongoing assessment here with consultants during the week, we will know more after they have looked at it.

“We will have to wait and see (regarding the EUROs). It is frustrating for us and for Jordan not being able to participate at the end of the season and we just hope that it is as good as possible.”

Nobbs has featured in 16 of Arsenal’s 20 Barclays FA Women’s Super League matches this season, however, just five of those outings have come as starts. Speculation has been building in recent weeks around her long term future and it remains to be seen whether Nobbs has played her last game in an Arsenal shirt.

The player will miss tomorrow night’s North London derby at the Emirates Stadium while she will also be absent from the squad which will end the 2021/2022 Barclays FA Women’s Super League campaign at West Ham United on Sunday.
