West Ham United full-back Kate Longhurst has signed a one-year contract extension with the club according to reports on The Hammers’ official website.

The 33-year-old is a West Ham United fan and she has been a part of every minute of the club’s top flight journey so far after joining the East Londoners from Liverpool in summer 2018.

At the end of a week which has seen a number of departures at West Ham United, the club have ended with some positive news with Longhurst signing a new deal for next season. The converted defender has made 72 appearances for The Hammers in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League in the last four seasons and has been an ever-present for the club this term. She has been an influential part of the West Ham United family both in the past and in the present.

After signing on again at The Chigwell Construction Stadium, Longhurst said “As a Club, I feel like we have progressed a lot in the time that I have been here and I’m hoping that next season will be the best one yet.

“This season, we’ve managed to get our highest number of points that we’ve had in a season in the WSL. It’s been really enjoyable to play for this team and do as well as we have. We have some great people here and there’s certainly something we can continue to build on in the future.

“I’m really looking forward to the new season getting underway… once I have had a little bit of a break!

“West Ham is my Club and there’s no place I’d rather be.”

Further contract news will be announced by West Ham United in due course.
