Arsenal midfielder Kim Little will spend the summer playing in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) after agreeing to join OL Reign on a short term deal according to reports on the American club’s official website.
The 31-year-old Scotland international ace will spend two-and-a-half months in the United States, joining The Reign on 1 June before returning to parent club Arsenal for pre-season training on 15 August ahead of the start of the 2022/2023 season.
Little previously spent three seasons with OL Reign between 2014 and 2016 under their former identity of Seattle Reign. The midfielder averaged more than a goal every other game for the NWSL club. The player will be hoping for a similar success story upon her return to the American game.
After completing the short term signing of Little, OL Reign boss Laura Harvey said “Bringing Kim back to the PNW is huge, Kim will go down in history as one of the best players to ever play in the NWSL and to have the chance to work with her again is exciting.
“I’d like to thank Arsenal for helping make this happen. This is a unique opportunity for us and one that we felt could be a huge impact on our squad in a crazy summer schedule. Kim’s ability and experience will be crucial for us to help continue to push our performances forward and help continue the growth of our young squad.”
OL Reign are currently in third place in the NWSL table after taking nine points from their opening six matches.
