Arsenal have confirmed that Austrian international defender Viktoria Schnaderbeck is leaving the club this summer.

The 31-year-old has spent the last four years with the North Londoners but she will start a fresh adventure with a new club in 2022/2023.

Arsenal announced news of Schnaderbeck’s departure via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

Since joining The Gunners from Bayern Munich, the defender has gone on to make 40 appearances for the club. Schnaderbeck’s time at Arsenal has seen the player struggle with both niggling and long term injuries.

Schnaderbeck spent the second half of this season on loan at Arsenal’s North London rivals Spurs. The player made five appearances in all competitions for The Lilywhites, helping the club to secure their highest-ever finish in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League of fifth place.

The Austrian is the second player to leave Arsenal this week. The Gunners have also parted company with long-serving winger Lisa Evans. Scotland international midfielder Kim Little has joined National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club OL Reign on a short term deal but she will return to Arsenal for pre-season.

Arsenal are yet to complete any new signings of their own ahead of the opening of the summer transfer window.
