London City Lionesses have confirmed that seven players will leave the club when their deals expire this summer.

The Pride provided a squad update via their official club website this afternoon which confirmed that Hannah Short, Lily Pursey, Kenni Thompson, Annie Rossiter, Alli Palisch, Mollie Rouse and Brooke Nunn are leaving Princes Park.

Rouse is the most-used player of those departing London City Lionesses this summer with the midfielder having made 18 appearances for the club in the FA Women’s Championship this season. Full-back Thompson and attackers Rossiter and Nunn also featured for Melissa Phillips’ side on a regular basis. Short, Pursey and Palisch made less than 10 appearances between them in the second tier this season.

Speaking following London City Lionesses’ announcement, head coach Phillips said “We’ve come so far in such a short amount of time as a club and to achieve our highest-ever league finish along with first victories over WSL opposition is true testament to the impact of every member of the team.

“With the close of each season, changes are always presented within the squad and we are grateful for the commitment and contribution which these players made along the journey.

“A few who have been a part of the club since the start, will always be a part of the foundations set for future successes.

“We wish each player departing the best in their next chapter and will always closely follow their journey.”

London City Lionesses recorded their highest league finish so far this season with The Pride ending the campaign as runners-up in the FA Women’s Championship.
