West Ham United goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold has signed a two-year contract extension with the club according to reports on The Hammers’ official website.

The 28-year-old Australian international stopper arrived in East London two years ago and she quickly established herself as West Ham United’s first choice goalkeeper.

Arnold made 18 appearances for The Hammers in this season’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League, keeping three clean sheets in the process. The player has enjoyed a successful season at The Chigwell Construction Stadium and she will be looking to kick on further in the next two years.

After signing on again with The Hammers, Arnold said “West Ham has been a club that has felt like home to me since I first walked through the doors two years ago. I couldn’t be happier or prouder to extend my stay here.

“We’ve been improving each season and I’m excited to see us continue our progression up the table – a top 4-5 finish is something that I know we’re more than capable of.

“In the time Konch (Paul Konchesky) has been with us, I’ve learnt a lot from him – both on and off the field – and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do as a team with him as our manager. I believe he can take us to the next step of where we need to be.

“I’ve been able to spend a fair bit of time switching off from football with my family and friends back home in Australia but I’m really looking forward to getting back with the girls and kicking off pre-season all together at the beginning of July.”

Arnold joins Kate Longhurst, Dagný Brynjarsdóttir and Hawa Cissoko in signing fresh terms with West Ham United this summer.
