London City Lionesses forward Rianna Jarrett has signed a new contract with the Barclays Women’s Championship club for next season.

The Pride announced the news via their latest squad update on their official club website this evening.

Jarrett was one of the club’s marquee signings when she moved to Princes Park on a free transfer last summer. The Republic of Ireland international scored four goals in 12 Barclays Women’s Championship appearances for London City Lionesses before injury ended her season prematurely.

The forward is set to return to fitness by the start of next season after recently undergoing surgery on a meniscus tear and she will undoubtedly be a big player for Melissa Phillips’ side.

After signing on again at London City Lionesses, Jarrett said “I’m really happy to have signed back with London City for another season.

“Last season was a big learning curve both individually and as a collective, with lots of hard lessons that hopefully we can continue to build on.

“There’s a great core group remaining from last season, and although it’s sad to see players move on, I’m sure the incoming players will compliment the hard work that’s been done and the culture that’s been built over the last few seasons.”

Jarrett joins Shae Yanez, Karin Muya, Hayley Nolan, Grace Neville and Anna Pedersen in signing on with The Pride again for 2022/2023.
