Preparations for the new Barclays Women’s Championship season are already well underway as Bristol City have officially announced that Jasmine Bull and Maddi Wilde have signed their first professional contracts with the club.
Not many will be familiar with the names unless they closely follow the goings on at the club but head coach Lauren Smith clearly expects big things from her teenage duo.
Midfielder Bull made her debut for the red and whites in a 2-1 away defeat against Charlton Athletic back in October of last year. The 19-year-old went on to make 11 appearances in all competitions for Bristol City across the campaign.
Full-back Wilde, who studies at the SGS College alongside Bull, came off the bench to make her senior debut in the 3-0 home victory over Blackburn Rovers in November. The defender has made six appearances for The Robins in all competitions.
Bristol City are tipped to be one of the favourites to clinch top spot next season and secure promotion back to the Barclays Women’s Super League. Smith’s side finished a respectable third in the league this season only behind London City Lionesses and champions Liverpool.
Smith and her team will be looking to do even better once the season gets back up and running in August with Bull and Wilde now permanent fixtures of the first team. Bristol City’s latest two young additions to their roster will be hoping that they can kick on, have a real impact in the side and make true names for themselves.
