Former Crystal Palace defender Siobhan Wilson has joined Birmingham City on a one-year deal with the option of a further year.

The 28-year-old defender moves to St Andrew’s on a free transfer after leaving Crystal Palace at the end of last season.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the transfer via an official club press release from Birmingham City this evening.

Wilson was one of Crystal Palace’s standout players in 2021/2022. The player made 20 appearances for The Eagles in the Barclays Women’s Championship, contributing five goals. Wilson provided her former club with plenty of versatility and she was a real burst of energy in the wide areas.

After signing on with Birmingham City, Wilson said “I’m buzzing to be here and glad to get it over the line. Speaking to Darren (Carter) and Jo (Potter), I just felt it was the right move for me at this time.

“I know I’m going to get good coaching, the experience I’m going to get from them will improve me as a player.”

Wilson becomes Birmingham City head coach Carter’s first signing of the transfer window. The defender is a quality signing that will fill the Blues fans with real hope about the upcoming season.
