Watford have completed the impressive signing of former Crystal Palace forward Bianca Baptiste according to reports on The Golden Girls’ official club website.
The 30-year-old goal machine moves to the Hertfordshire club on a free transfer after leaving former club Palace at the end of last season.
Baptiste is a talented attacking player with skill and pace to burn. The forward has struck fear into Barclays Women’s Championship defences in recent seasons. The player spent three years with former club Palace, scoring 12 goals in 50 Barclays Women’s Championship games whilst creating many more goals for her teammates. Baptiste is now sure to make a positive impact with new club Watford.
It could be argued that Watford were missing a player of Baptiste’s quality last season. The Golden Girls were relegated from the Barclays Women’s Championship on the final day of the season after just one year back in the second tier. Many may have questioned the club’s direction following their relegation but make no doubt about it, the signing of Baptiste is a statement of intent – Watford want to be successful once again.
The forward is Watford’s first signing of what promises to be a busy transfer window for the club.
