Bristol City have completed the signing of former Coventry United goalkeeper Olivia Clark on a one-year deal.

The Robins announced the transfer via an update on their official club website this afternoon.

Clark is a highly-rated young keeper who has been waiting patiently for opportunities in the elite game. The 20-year-old made 10 appearances for former club Coventry United in last season’s Barclays Women’s Championship, although fellow keeper Lauren Thomas ended the campaign in The Red and Greens’ goal. Clark will now tussle with Fran Bentley for the number one goalkeeping jersey at Bristol City.

After signing on with The Robins, Clark said “It’s great, I am really enjoying my time here so far, it’s good to be part of such a great club so I’m excited.

“The girls have been so welcoming, the staff as well, there’s just such a great one-club ethos here as well so it’s been really good.

“The facilities are great, I think the best in the league and probably better than some WSL clubs as well so that was also a big factor in me coming here. It’s really professional and we are doing things the same as the men which is great as well.”

Clark becomes the second signing of the summer transfer window at Bristol City.
