Bristol City have completed the signing of former Aston Villa full-back Jodie Hutton on a one-year deal.
The Robins announced the news via an update on their official club website earlier today.
Hutton has spent the last five years as a senior player at Aston Villa. The defender helped Aston Villa to the Barclays Women’s Championship title on a points per game basis in 2019/2020 while Hutton has 21 appearances under her belt in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
After completing her move to Bristol City, Hutton said “I’m delighted to join this club, I have heard a lot about the ambitions here and that’s what made my decision. I’m very excited to get going.
“It was important to get the deal done early. Pre-season isn’t just about getting fit, it’s about getting to know the team, being with a new group, so it’s very important to get it done early so that you get a full pre-season before the season starts.”
Hutton is Bristol City’s third signing of the summer transfer window following the additions of goalkeepers Fran Bentley and Olivia Clark. There will undoubtedly be more deals to come with The Robins short in several areas of their squad following summer departures.
