Birmingham City midfielder Jamie Finn has signed a one-year contract extension with the club with the option of a further year according to reports on the Blues’ official website.
The 24-year-old Republic of Ireland international joined Birmingham City last summer from FAI Women’s National League club Shelbourne.
Finn enjoyed a successful first year in England. The player featured in 20 of Birmingham City’s 22 matches in the Barclays Women’s Super League. Unfortunately, Finn’s efforts were not enough to keep the Blues in the top flight but she will now be hoping to help Birmingham City mount an immediate promotion push after signing her new deal.
The midfielder is one of a number of exciting raw talents to come out of the Irish game. The player started her career in her homeland with Raheny United before moving to the United States where she represented Florida Gulf Coast Eagles. Upon her return to Ireland, Finn enjoyed a lengthy spell playing for Shelbourne prior to her move to Birmingham City.
Finn becomes the third player to sign a new contract at Birmingham City this summer. She joins Abi Cowie and Eleanor Ryan-Doyle in signing fresh terms with the Blues. The Midlands club also took up an option on Jade Pennock’s contract to extend by a further year.
