Aston Villa have completed the signing of former Reading player Natasha Harding on a free transfer according to reports on The Villans’ official club website.
The 33-year-old Welsh international, who can fill various roles in the Villa side, has penned an initial one-year deal with the Midlands club.
Harding is primarily a forward, however, she often played much deeper for Reading last season with the player turning out in defence. Despite regularly playing at the back, Harding gained rave reviews for many of her performances. Ultra-consistent, Harding has not missed a Barclays Women’s Super League fixture in the last two seasons. Her experience will provide real value to an Aston Villa squad which is growing in quality.
After signing on for Aston Villa, Harding said “I’m really excited to be joining the team, staff and fans at this amazing club.
“I’m also excited to see what we can all do together, on and off the pitch, and hopefully achieve some great things along the way.
“I’m in a great place mentally and physically and I can’t wait to show my strengths to help the team this season.”
Harding becomes Aston Villa boss Carla Ward’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window following the recent additions of Simone Magill, Anna Patten and Danielle Turner.
