Everton forward Nicoline Sørensen has signed a new one-year deal with the club according to reports on The Blue Girls’ official website.
The 24-year-old Danish international forward joined Everton from Brøndby back in summer 2020.
Sørensen appeared in all 22 Barclays Women’s Super League matches for Everton in her first season with the club, scoring two goals. The forward made three appearances last season before rupturing her Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) in Everton’s 3-1 victory over Birmingham City at Walton Hall Park.
It has been reported that Sørensen is making good progress with her recovery and the club have moved to retain her services for another year.
After extending her contract with Everton, Sørensen said “I’m delighted to stay here for another year.
“I feel like this is a new start for myself and the Club, and I’m excited to be a part of that.
“Hopefully it’s not too far away until I’m back on the pitch with the girls.”
Danish players and Everton seem to go very well together. Sørensen has followed her national team colleague Rikke Sevecke in extending her deal with The Blue Girls this summer. Courtney Brosnan and Megan Finnigan have also signed new terms with the club in the close season.
