Former Manchester United and Manchester City midfielder Cara Milne-Redhead has joined Barclays Women’s Championship club Coventry United.
The 19-year-old moves to the Butts Park Arena after most recently combining her football with her studies in the United States at Seton Hall Pirates.
Milne-Redhead joined Burnley at the age of eight and she spent five years with The Lady Clarettes. The player scored a hugely impressive 51 goals in just 22 games for the Lancashire club despite playing in a higher year group. The midfielder then had a successful trial at Manchester United and later became a vice-captain of her team. Milne-Redhead’s most recent spell in England came with Manchester City who she represented up to WSL Academy League level.
On the international stage, Milne-Redhead was invited to Scotland Under-15 and Under-16 camps before making her international debut at Under-17 level. The player will now have her eyes firmly set upon gaining further international honours with her country.
Milne-Redhead has become new Coventry United head coach Lee Burch’s first signing. The move to the Butts Park Arena is a good one for the teenager with her new head coach having a great track record of developing up and coming talent. The midfielder could make her debut against Bristol City on the first day of the season.
