Bristol City have announced the quick-fire signings of defender Vicky Bruce and midfielder Elysia Boddy.
The Robins announced the capture of American defender Bruce first via their official club website and they quickly revealed the second signing of Boddy in a further post.
Bruce joins Bristol City after most recently playing her football with German club SC Sand. She boasts an impressive personal CV which also includes Apollon Limassol and Fortuna Hjørring. The 28-year-old previously represented the United States at various youth levels in the early days of her career.
Midfielder Boddy joins The Robins after spending the second half of last season with Barclays Women’s Super League club Leicester City. The youngster made two substitute appearances for The Foxes in 2021/2022 while she was regularly named amongst the substitutes. Boddy started her senior career in the North East with third tier side Middlesbrough while she has represented England within their youth structure.
Bruce and Boddy have become the sixth and seventh new additions at Bristol City so far this summer. Head coach Lauren Smith’s squad is beginning to look rather strong, although The Robins are maybe still short in one or two areas. Expect the club to strengthen further before the start of the new season.
